This project is inspired by the country I have called home for the past 15 years - Oman - and its vivid mountainous landscape which cannot be missed from any spot in the capital city Muscat. As an Australian born to Indian parents who grew up in Australia, Sri Lanka, and Oman, I either merge with the environment or stand out as an outsider in a certain culture, and the hallucinatory images of this series depict that.
This photographic series follows my brother Sidak, who is a Sikh boy who wears a "patka", traditional Sikh headwear for a young boy. This image of a modern young Sikh boy is often unseen and I wanted to highlight that; however it is because of his headwear that he often stands out in any environment.
Seen, Unseen also explores hallucinations, and hence I employed the use of double exposures in this series which was photographed on film and DSLR.
